Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB)

The Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB) is a national clinical research group sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, with its Central Office headquartered at the University of Chicago and its Statistical Center located at Duke University. The CALGB was founded in 1956 with a goal of bringing together clinical oncologists and laboratory investigators to develop better treatments for cancer. Since 1956, CALGB has grown into a national network of 29 university medical centers, over 225 community hospitals and more than 3000 oncology specialists who collaborate in clinical research studies aimed at reducing the morbidity and mortality from cancer, relating the biological characteristics of cancer to clinical outcomes and developing new strategies for the early detection and prevention of cancer.

Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU)

CTSU is a pilot project sponsored by the National Cancer Institute for a national network of physicians to participate in NCI sponsored Phase III cancer trials.

Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest University (CCCWFU)

The CCCWFU provides state-of-the-art intervention oriented clinical research in cancer prevention, quality of life, and treatment for cancer patients to members and patients throughout the United States. The CCCWFU is based in Winston-Salem, NC.

H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center (HLMCC)

The H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center and Research Institute (HLMCC), a department of the University of South Florida, is a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and CCOP Research Base.  HLMCC is located in Tampa, FL.  The goals of HLMCC is to develop cancer control trials for use in the community setting and to provide community physicians an opportunityy to participate in NCI-supported cancer control clinical trials.

National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP)

The National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) is a cooperative group that was formed in 1971 to conduct clinical trials in breast and colorectal cancer research. The members of this cooperative group had been involved in collaborative research as early as 1958. The cooperative group now comprises the membership of the NSABP Foundation, Inc. headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.2

Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG)

RTOG is a cooperative group organization based in Philadelphia, PA comprised of over 250 major research institutions in the US and Canada. They have over 30 years experience developing clinical trials which are funded by the National Cancer Institute. Currently, RTOG has 40+ active studies involving radiation therapy alone or in conjunction with surgery and/or chemotherapeutic drugs.

Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG)

The Southwest Oncology Group is an adult cancer clinical trials organization, one of the largest in the world. Our National Cancer Institute-sponsored Cooperative Group's membership and network consists of almost 4,000 of the nation's leading physicians at 283 institutions throughout the United States and Canada. Since its inception in 1956, The Southwest Oncology Group has directly affected the lives of more than 150,000 patients enrolled in our clinical trials. The organization has touched millions more through our dedicated and successful clinical research. Within the past 13 years, Southwest Oncology Group research has led to the FDA issuance of new drug approvals for nine cancer therapies. The Operations Office is headquartered in San Antonio, TX.

University of Rochester Cancer Center (URCC)

The University of Rochester Cancer Center (URCC), a department of the University of Rochester Medical Center, is a National Cancer Institute Designated Clinical Cancer Center serving the nine county Genesee-Finger Lakes region in upstate New York. The primary focus of URCC is to provide care for people with cancer, and to conduct significant cancer-related basic and clinical research.
